There’s something special about slowing down with a good book and a creative hobby. In this cozy beginner-friendly crochet workshop with guest instructor Becka of Radiant Beans, you’ll create your own handmade bookmarks while learning the foundational skills needed to begin your crochet journey.
During this two-hour class, you’ll learn beginner crochet techniques including how to hold your yarn, create a chain, single crochet, slip stitch, manage tension, and fasten off while completing a functional handmade project perfect for your current read, book club nights, or gifting to a fellow reader.
Designed with beginners in mind, this workshop focuses on building confidence through approachable, step-by-step instruction in a relaxed and supportive environment. Whether you’re completely new to crochet or simply looking for a cozy creative night out, you’ll leave with new skills you can continue practicing long after class ends.
What to Expect:
- Small Class Sizes: With only 8 spots available, our cozy workshop size means you get more hands-on help in an intimate learning environment. We're all about creating a quality crafting experience!
- Step-by-Step Guidance: Becka has been crocheting for over 19 years and has taught workshops throughout Portland and Vancouver, including Flock Fiber Fest. Known for her warm and encouraging teaching style, she is passionate about helping students feel comfortable, confident, and supported throughout their fiber journey.
- All Materials & Tools Provided: We supply everything you need. Each guest will receive two skeins of worsted yarn and a 5 mm soft touch crochet hook to use during class and take home afterward.
- Social Atmosphere: Enjoy a cozy and creative environment where you can slow down, meet fellow makers and book lovers, and experience the calming rhythm of crochet.
