Join us for this fun and engaging workshop, where you'll create a stunning sterling silver gemstone ring. You'll learn some basic principals of metalsmithing along the way, including filing, soldering, shaping stone-setting and finishing. Choose from over 15 types of gemstones!
This workshop is taught by Shelby Evans, owner and maker behind Modeco Jewelry, a woman-owned jewelry line based in Portland, Oregon. With years of experience in metalsmithing and handcrafted jewelry design, Shelby is passionate about helping others learn the art of jewelry making in a welcoming and approachable environment.
Perfect for all skill levels, Shelby will guide you through each step of the process. At the end of class, you'll leave with a beautiful ring that you'll be proud to wear everyday!
*No prior jewelry making experience needed, but this project requires a bit of patience. We will be using a small torch and other semi-hazardous tools, so we kindly ask that all participants are at least 18 years old.*
What to Expect:
- Small Class Sizes: With only 6 spots available, our cozy workshop size means you get more hands-on help in an intimate learning environment. We're all about creating a quality crafting experience!
- Step-by-Step Guidance: Our instructor will provide instructions and demonstrations to help you create your masterpiece.
- All Materials & Tools Provided: We supply everything you need, including silver, gemstones, supplies and tools.
- Social Atmosphere: Enjoy a fun and relaxed environment where you can meet new friends and share your love of creating.
Project Details:
- Dimensions: Ring bands measure 2mm wide. Your rings will be made to your finger size. Choose from 4mm, 5mm or 6mm stones.
- Material/Color Options: All rings will be made of solid sterling silver. Choose from 15+ gemstone types. You can choose to finish your rings in a high polish or satin finish.
- Duration: You will be given 4 hours to complete your project.
